At Lillypad Restoration, we've given a new life to a classic mid-century stereo console, innovatively converting it into a bespoke coffee bar. Gorgeous and practical, this sophisticated piece of home furnishing carries with it a considerable element of nostalgia along with its new function.

Project Details

The central part of the console now holds a small bar sink, deftly installed without disturbing the timeless aesthetic. This feature adds convenience and an unexpected twist, making this coffee bar truly one-of-a-kind.

The original speaker enclosures didn’t escape our touch of creativity. They have now been transformed into doors, providing significant additional storage for everything you need to keep your coffee station stocked and tidy.

Designed with usability in mind, the left side of the console has been outfitted with sufficient space to accommodate a coffee machine. Additional compartments have also been added. It's not just about the coffee, it's about providing a unique experience and organizing your coffee-making essentials.

Retaining the Charm

What makes this coffee bar truly exceptional is its ability to retain its vintage charm. The top lid of the console still smoothly opens up, allowing easy access to the new sink and compartments. This feature maintains the console's original function and style, providing a delightful surprise when opened.

Despite the transformation, the mid-century aesthetic has been kept intact. The objective was not to erase but to enhance—to introduce functional modern touches without losing the retro allure.
